The Prometric exam for Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLTs) is a standardized test used to evaluate the competency and knowledge of medical lab professionals. It is often required for licensing in various countries, such as in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.

Question Format

- Scoring: 50-60%

Purpose:

•  The exam is typically required by regulatory bodies like the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP), and other similar entities for the purpose of granting a professional license.
•  This exam tests candidates on their theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and understanding of safety, quality control, and laboratory procedures to ensure they meet the international standards of practice.
•  By evaluating the technical knowledge of healthcare workers, it aims to ensure that only qualified professionals practice in the healthcare system, contributing to patient safety and quality care.
